Hotel Lindleinsmühle

I don’t recommend this hotel. We checked in on the afternoon of June 28 and asked the male receptionist in German whether breakfast was included, since we weren’t sure about our reservation. He politely said it was, and confirmed that three times, so we had breakfast the next morning. At checkout on the morning of June 29, a middle-aged female receptionist rudely told us to pay an extra €30 for breakfast. We explained in German that her colleague had said it was included, and asked her to check with him. She suddenly started yelling, slammed her hand on the counter, and said we had misunderstood because we were foreigners and couldn’t understand German. That’s exactly what happened, not an exaggeration. Her manner was arrogant, aggressive, and completely disrespectful. I felt it was blatant discrimination and a lack of basic human decency. Unless you’re willing to pay a high price to be yelled at, insulted, and discriminated against, stay away.

There’s an outstanding pizzeria right across the street that delivers to your room. The hotel itself is clean, easy to access, and has a good breakfast.

The breakfast was good, but a nearby shop’s pizza wasn’t. There were no nearby shops or apotheke for shopping or getting medicine. The location is near a bus stop, though the road is hard to climb for someone who is handicapped or physically challenged, and parking is a big issue. Our room was broken: the shower didn’t work, the sink was jammed, and water flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. Service was okay, but they wouldn’t fix it until I kept pushing. I was really pissed off and had to sit outside my room while they worked on the washroom. Staff should inspect rooms before check-in and make sure the facilities work. I was given a broken room and broken service. Those are my reasons for giving it 1 star.

I stayed with my husband and kids the night before we were due to travel home. During the journey my husband got sick, and the staff helped arrange a taxi to a nearby medical clinic for him. The next day I had to head home alone with the kids while he stayed at the clinic to recover a little longer. The owner was a true angel. She brought me coffee and breads for the journey and asked me to call once I got home. I felt so stressed and helpless, and her kindness meant the world to me. I’ll never forget it. Thank you so much. The hotel also had beautiful rooms, a great breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, and a perfect location.
