Hotel & Restaurant Walfisch

The location is excellent, with a beautiful view across the river to the fortress and Kappele on the hills. Staff were friendly and professional. I stayed three nights. The rooms are small, though that's normal for older hotels in Europe. Breakfast is self-serve, with fruit, baked goods, scrambled eggs, bacon, and a coffee machine. The vending machine has water and sodas, and there's a small store a couple of blocks away with more items. Great value for money.

The location is priceless, and for the price this is a good deal. Rooms are average, service is decent, and breakfast options aren't that great. Nothing to complain about, though. Always choose a room with a castle view.

Our front-facing room was smart and comfortable. It looked over a fairly busy road toward the River Maine and the historic 'wine bridge, but traffic noise didn't disturb us. The hotel is very close to the lovely city center. Good minibar and breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. A good little traditional hotel. Recommend!

We were here during a heat wave, and the AC couldn't quite keep up, though being on the fourth floor meant we could open the windows. The hotel is right by the river, opposite the Marienberg fortress, and near other historic sites, restaurants, and lots of stores. A tram stop is very close too. Decent hotel, with a good buffet breakfast and great service from all the staff.
