The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the hotel was clean, though it isn't very modern. Our standard double room had two separate single beds. They brought us a small fridge when we asked. The location is very central, about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

The buffet breakfast was a hit with my son, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout. My wife had to leave early, so they arranged her taxi and packed her a huge breakfast to take along: two sandwiches, an apple, a banana, a granola bar, a cookie and apple juice. They also helped us recover our son's pacifier. We lost it on the way to the hotel after arriving on a delayed train, and although we'd only asked them to call the taxi company the next morning, it was waiting for us at the hotel when we returned from the Roman museum. They'd even arranged a taxi for us from the station on arrival. The service was great, the hotel was very clean, and the breakfasts were excellent. We'd happily return and highly recommend it.

The breakfast was the best I've had in Germany so far. The hotel has a blue color scheme, and cyclists get a really good secure parking spot in the basement, with a bike pump and power for an electric bike.

We had a great stay in this very clean, newly renovated hotel, right in the center of historic Xanten. Breakfast was excellent, and there was a secure place to keep our bicycles.
