We didn’t book breakfast, but it always looked delicious and busy. The interior design was a 10/10, the room was clean, and the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always available. We loved our two nights at Hotel Petra. Its location is perfect, with Copenhagen’s highlights within walking distance. Absolutely recommended for a weekend trip!

The smallest double room is very compact, better suited to one person or two people travelling light. With big suitcases, opening them can be a struggle. There’s no AC or refrigerator, and the shower is so cramped that even I kept bumping into the walls. The design is beautiful and everything looked clean and tidy. It was a good stay, but consider the price and location when setting expectations. If space and comfort matter to you, you may want to look elsewhere.

The location is awesome, and most of the staff were very nice. The place looks beautiful, but it wasn’t a comfortable stay, especially for what we paid. I wouldn’t return in the small room type. We’d confirmed an upgrade after booking through another platform and emailing on July 31st this year to check the room type. They said it wasn’t the room type I wanted but offered an upgrade, which I accepted. When we arrived a couple of days ago, the upgrade hadn’t been registered, so we were given the smaller room instead. It was extremely small, with no outlet by my side of the bed and nowhere to store our things. We had to leave our suitcases on the floor, and there weren’t any clothes hangers. The shower was so tiny that the shower head was directly above the shampoos, washing the soap off my hands as soon as I tried to use it. The soundproofing needs work too, we could hear the neighbours’ TV. Hotel Petra is definitely designed to look nice, but functionality is another story 😜

I didn’t stay overnight, but I ate breakfast here every day for five days. The breakfast was very nice, and the place was clean and quiet with polite staff. A lovely way to start the day. It’s in the city centre, so you can walk everywhere.

The room has very little space for your belongings. We booked the largest type, yet the closet was only half depth and filled with robes, a kettle, and other room items. We had to move those things around to fit our clothes, and it was still full. There are no drawers in the nightstands or desk, so the room quickly looks cluttered, even though there’s room for a small dresser and bedside tables with drawers. The bathroom design was especially frustrating. Its two tiny shelves were already occupied by washcloths and glasses, so I had to shuffle things around and keep half my toiletries elsewhere. There’s wall space for a towel shelf, and they could have added hooks for the robes too. The lighting was the worst I’ve encountered, impossible for doing my makeup or hair. It really seemed like no woman had been consulted about the room. We usually sleep on a firm bed at home, but this one was insanely firm. The hotel also had no AC, which surprised me for a brand new place. I know air conditioning isn’t common in Europe, but every other hotel I’ve stayed in across Norway, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Austria, and elsewhere had it. We asked for a fan, but it was dusty and barely moved any air. We often had to open the windows to cool the room, but the narrow street was incredibly loud, even louder than where we live in NYC. We’d requested a quiet room but got one facing the street on the second floor by the stairs, where people walk and the sound echoes. Why ask for preferences if they aren’t going to block rooms accordingly? I also only got one email when I booked months earlier. Hotels normally send details before a trip to confirm and explain check-in, but nothing else came, and I wondered if I’d even arrive to a room. The rooms don’t have phones either, which seems very strange for a hotel hosting international guests.
