Residence Inn Copenhagen Nordhavn

The location worked well for us during our move out of Denmark. We needed somewhere near our previous home that would accept pets, and this Residence Inn suited us. It’s also handy for visitors, with the metro about five blocks away, several cafés and places to eat nearby, and three supermarkets within three blocks. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed: a kitchenette with an induction stove, microwave, dishwasher, silverware and pots, plus a built-in table with high chairs. There was also a nice bathroom with heated floors, central AC, a desk and office chair, and a 50-55 inch TV with cable and Chromecast. Each floor has a laundry room, though you need to buy your own soap. It was just right for our stay. The receptionist from Romania, whose name I’m sorry I’ve forgotten, showed me the rooms before check-in and gave us a free upgrade to a sea-side view. It was lovely, and my cat turned out to love looking at the sea too.

We liked the water views and watching the marine traffic from our upgraded sea-view room, and the Nordhavn area has a lot of appeal, with its urban feel and modern architecture. The city center is about 20 minutes away by metro. The hotel itself has clean, spacious rooms and a well-equipped kitchenette. Housekeeping came daily, and the bath products were high quality. Breakfast is included and very good, with complimentary coffee and tea available around the clock. Staff were super friendly, and reception is open 24 hours. There’s reasonably priced covered parking nearby, and both the waterbus and Metro/tram are a short walk away. We’ll be back.

Barbara at the front desk was a real help. She was friendly, shared thoughtful ideas for sightseeing and activities during our trip around Denmark, and made a big difference. I hope the hotel recognizes her contribution. The check-in staff the night before we arrived, though, came across as cold and uninterested in helping guests, which was disappointing. Our room faced the water and was peaceful, kept a comfortable temperature, and had a remarkably comfortable bed. It was roomy and had a mini kitchen, so I’d consider staying here on a business trip. Breakfast was a tasty continental spread with a range of choices, including gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, and vegetarian options. The pastries stood out. The hotel is a little outside the city center, but the metro connection from the airport makes getting there easy.

Great place to stay, with comfy rooms, lovely harbor views, and an amazing breakfast. You can rent bikes, and restaurants, shops, groceries, and the Metro are all walkable. Swimming and Saunagus are nearby too. Highly recommended.
