I was traveling alone, and this was the most welcoming, friendly, comfortable, and enjoyable place I've stayed in Ecuador. The hoteliers are Cuenca pros who helped me navigate the area, and I highly recommend the hotel. It's central and safe, but I wasn't bothered by street noise in my room even with Carnival going on. The room was spotless, with a firm, comfortable bed, smooth sheets, and a shower with good pressure and an adjustable temperature. It wasn't just scalding or freezing. The attention to detail was lovely. Breakfast included the best coffee I've had in Ecuador and a made-for-me hibiscus infusion I now need to recreate at home. I'd happily come back and recommend it to friends and fellow travelers. Pro tip, book straight through the hotel, such as on WhatsApp or by email, and ignore bookings.com.

The renovated hotel is meticulously done, and my room was very comfortable. I loved the shared spaces, especially the patio and the upstairs area set up like a living room in an old mansion. Breakfast was great, and I enjoyed chatting with the owners each morning. They really know what they're doing. It was also great value. Best hotel experience I've ever had, I'd give them seven stars if I could.

We felt at home as soon as we walked into The Casa Hibiscus. The staff and owners were welcoming and couldn't have done more for us, from cooking fresh breakfast to arranging taxis and suggesting places to visit. The amenities were first class, and the location worked perfectly for us, within walking distance of the town center. We had a lovely stay and an unforgettable experience. We loved Cuenca and would certainly stay here again if we return.

The rooms were nice and the location was perfect. It was generally quiet, though some facility noise started around 6:30. That was close to our usual wake-up time, so otherwise it might have woken us. The hot shower was nice, while breakfast was a bit basic. The price is probably reasonable for Cuenca, but high for Ecuador. We booked at the last minute and didn't have much choice.

The owners went out of their way several times to help us, and breakfast was very good. Our room was a good size and well appointed. It's a beautiful colonial hotel in a convenient spot for visiting museums and other points of interest around Cuenca. If we visit again, we'll certainly stay here.
