Hotel & Suites El Quijote

The service was terrible. My room had no TV and the hair dryer didn't work. When I wanted to go out for my night cigarette, a hotel employee told me I should be in my room with my kids. Do not book.

Our group of 14 booked rooms based on the pictures on Booking.com, after my family had stayed here before and been satisfied. We drove more than eight hours, only to find that the rooms assigned to us were far below the advertised standard in both quality and layout. When we raised this at reception, staff said the published pictures showed only the best rooms. That confirmed to us that the images were selective and didn't guarantee what guests would actually receive. For a group of 14, comfort and the agreed terms mattered, and we felt our booking was used to place us in rooms that weren't worth the price. The receptionist herself offered a refund. If the information had been clear, complete, and truthful from the start, we wouldn't have made the booking or the trip. This review isn't meant to discredit the establishment. I'm documenting what happened during our stay. It's unacceptable to admit the advertising doesn't reflect all the rooms. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you want assurance that you'll get what's shown in the photos. The offer was misleading, and customer service was very poor.

We booked suites in early December for January 1st, for 14 people. After a 9-hour trip to Cuenca, we were given a couple of rooms that felt like storage rooms: small, dark, uncomfortable, and nothing like the advertised suites. The facilities matched the deplorable service, and this is supposed to be a 3-star hotel. We told reception that advertised items like irons, dryers, TVs, and parking weren't included. They refused to find a solution. After a lot of insistence, they offered a room more like a broom closet, with beds in a storage room. In a rude manner, they eventually offered only a refund, leaving us stranded without a hotel. The service was terrible.

The dormitory was neglected, and I didn't like the room I was assigned. There were no towels. The bathroom was filthy, with black stains and slugs in the bathtub. The ceiling was damp, and room 110 had a hole in the floor. The rooms looked nothing like the photos. At $55 a night for a double room, it really wasn't worth it.
