The rooms are basic, but they were surprisingly clean.

The location is nice, though the place felt a little overrated.

The pool patio is the nicest part, with plants around it and a calm, inviting feel, even though the pool itself is small. Casas Veraneras is made up of two adjoining houses on either side of the pool, adapted for guests, and some rooms have a kitchenette. But you're only allowed outside until 6 pm, so afterward you can't use the patio either. The place looks beautiful, but the service was the weak spot. It didn't feel warm, and there wasn't much willingness to sort out problems. Payment is due when you arrive. Breakfast, if requested, starts at 8:30 am, with no earlier option. Check the costs before booking: the quoted price leaves out taxes, parking, and breakfast. Ask about those and whether cards are accepted, so you don't run into surprises or payment trouble. Also, some photos shared by other tourists show a large pool near the beach, but that isn't this location.

The one thing that bothered me was paying extra for parking. I can't really judge the location, since the city is large and “close” or “far” depends on what you mean. It was a quiet, comfortable stay that felt a bit like being with family. The person running the place was friendly and attentive. Our room was spotless, with hot water in the shower, a bathroom, hairdryer, kitchenette, air conditioning, and microwave. You get in through a code on the door lock now, rather than keys. My kids loved swimming in the pool and watching the little birds. There was a foosball table in the courtyard too, but it was broken. Breakfast was delicious.
