The garden was my favourite part of the Temple. At breakfast, we could watch hummingbirds, guatusos and lots of other animals. It’s a calm place, about a 10-15 minute walk from the village. The room was cozy and the bathroom bright. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and staff were around all morning if we needed anything. You can also get a very nice local breakfast. The laundry service was quick and good, our clothes were clean within 2 hours.

We took a local bus from Quito, but ask the bus staff whether it goes into town. If it doesn’t, you’ll need to take a taxi from the main highway, which isn’t expensive but is a little inconvenient. The hotel is a bit out of town, which adds to its charm. It feels like you’re in the jungle, and there were no bugs during our stay. The staff were excellent. Our room and bathroom were both large and very clean, with good hot water and water pressure. I’d stay here again and recommend it to visitors to Mindo if they’re fine with a 10 min walk into town. I think it’s worth it.

The bed was uncomfortable and the walls were paper thin. The administrador confirmed checkout was at noon, then tried to have my things put out at 10 while I was away on the waterfall hike. At $30, it’s definitely not worth the price.

We came away feeling recharged. The facilities were comfortable and welcoming, and the natural setting was treated with real respect. We enjoyed several activities, including the butterfly garden, hummingbirds and waterfalls. The food was delicious, and it’s a lovely place to enjoy the outdoors and disconnect from the world.
