Hostel El Cielo

The kitchen has everything you need, and there are relaxing lounge areas, a book exchange, and a pool. The owner is really nice and helps with anything you need. It’s a clean, quiet hostel away from the party scene, about a 10-minute walk from the heart of town. My room was nice and clean, with its own clean bathroom, fans, and towels.

I loved sleeping in the four-bed dorm Daniel built with some volunteers. It was fresh, clean, and a really nice room. I stayed for a few days to enjoy the coast, and found the hostel quiet, spacious, and really nice. Daniel was kind and takes good care of both the place and his guests. He also gives surfing lessons.

We only meant to stay two days, but ended up spending three weeks there, which says a lot about how we felt. El Cielo had everything we needed, even on days when we stayed in. There’s a swimming pool for the warm days, and Monica was an amazing host, always helpful. She recommended places to eat and party, and even a doctor when needed. The town center has lots of party spots that can get really loud, but El Cielo was peaceful. If we go back, we’ll definitely stay here again.

We stayed almost a week and would happily come back, especially if you’re looking for a break from the party scene. The place has a relaxed vibe and people. Daniel is very nice and helpful, and the rooms are quite big, bright, and clean. There’s a shared space with a couch, table, hammocks, and a pool, plus laundry service. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the main road, a bit outside Montañita, which makes it quiet and chill.
