Grand Hotel Leon Marino Galapagos

The location was great and the hotel felt safe. Beds were clean and comfortable, but the rooms were only okay. We had to wear shoes inside because our feet got very dirty otherwise. The shower tile was extremely slippery, and there were ants in the bathroom. Water got very hot, but splashed across the floor since the shower had no door. Breakfast options were limited and the coffee was weak. Street noise was loud on Friday and Saturday, and sounds echoed from people using the hotel's interior common space. Bring earplugs if noise bothers you. WiFi only worked in the lobby, not in the room.

We stayed one night as a stopover before the next ferry. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, kind, and caring. They made sure we were comfortable and took care of everything we needed. Thank you.

The taps take a full minute to make any difference, and even then the shower is either scalding or completely cold. Worst shower I’ve ever had.

The bathroom was tiny, and its door wouldn’t open all the way. I also came back to find cleaners inside my locked room, then discovered my sunglasses were broken and had to buy another pair. The hotel is beautiful, though, and the reception staff were very friendly.
