Ayampe Guest House

We celebrated our wedding here, and we’ll keep coming back for the beauty and special energy of the place. The whole team was so friendly and professional, from the owner’s family to the service staff and management. What an amazing spot.

The place itself is really nice, and Mariela made us a good breakfast. There’s hot and cold drinking water, which was handy, but the pool cues are worn and bent. The beach also needs some upkeep, with tree trunks and debris all over it. Our booking through booking.com was canceled after Pamela offered us a better deal, but we still paid $490 for four nights. She charged us local Ecuadorian taxes that are supposed to apply to Ecuadorians or visitors who have been in the country for 60 days or more. That wasn’t our situation, and I felt Pamela took advantage of us. The tours they sell cost more than tours in puerto López, so don’t buy them there. Surfboards are $10 an hour, the highest price in Ayampe, while next door they’re $7. They didn’t have wax on the boards or any to offer. We had a better time in Salinas and Olon/Montañita, and we won’t return.

Sol and Daniel were wonderful with me and my friends. The staff were welcoming and helped us with whatever we needed to enjoy our stay. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and cozy, with well equipped bathrooms and good showers. Breakfast was included, simple but delicious. The property faces the sea and has a pool, bar, and sports area. You can rent surfboards or take a surf class with the staff. Nights were very quiet, and it felt safe. Ayampe's center is just a two minute walk away. Prices seemed fair for the service, and after looking at places nearby, this was one of the best options I found. I spent four days here and would definitely come back. Highly recommend it if you’re staying in Ayampe.

Our group of ten had plenty of room to feel comfortable at this great beachfront place. The rooms each have a private bathroom, and air conditioning is available. There’s also a TV room, BBQ area, spacious shared kitchen, and pool table. Friendly staff and a really good atmosphere.
