Hotel Isamar Galapagos Beachfront

The hotel and its location are nice, and the staff were friendly. We paid extra for a sea view, but what we actually faced was the terrace, with sun loungers and tables right outside. Guests were constantly out there, often smoking, so we had to keep the curtains shut throughout our stay just to get any privacy. Knowing that, I wouldn't have booked the sea view. It made the room feel like a bunker.

The restaurant food was amazing, and the staff were really friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. It's a beautiful hotel right on the beach, with big, clean rooms. Everything you need is within walking distance, though it's not a very big town.

We had to cancel our whole Galapagos trip, so unfortunately couldn't make it this year. The owner personally helped us with the cancellation and was extremely accommodating. That was excellent customer service, and it makes me think staying here would be top notch. We'll include Isamar Hotel when we're able to visit the Galapagos in the future.

I wish we'd been able to stay longer. The owner and staff were cheerful, friendly, and helpful, and Katie, who was volunteering all the way from the UK, proactively helped guests who preferred English to Spanish so they could have a pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and in relatively new condition, with plenty of power points and good shower pressure and temperature. The shower facilities were handy for a late departure after checking out early, or for freshening up if you arrived sweaty before check-in. We did see a big roach in the room, but bugs are common on the island, so it didn't bother us. Similar places are scarce on Isla Isabela, so I think the seemingly high prices are deserved as a scarcity premium.
