The Wooden House Lodge

Freshly cooked dinners were made whenever we asked, and breakfast came with a flexible schedule. The service was excellent. It’s a quiet, convenient spot at the end of the road to the port, with a small bay full of marine animals just a three-minute walk away.

The hotel is cozy inside, and the rooms are nice, though they can be buggy. A cockroach is probably to be expected in these parts. The pool is there, but it’s really small, and the area outside is a bit of a mess. Breakfast was great, while the wine was very expensive and not that good. Service was friendly, maybe a little too eager. The location is practical, close to the port and a short walk from town, though you’re outside town and could choose somewhere closer to or right on the beach.

The food was delicious and our room was clean and comfortable. What made the stay one of our favorites, though, was how kind and generous the service was. The manager/owner greeted us whenever we returned from afternoon tours, and the staff got up at 5am to make sure we had breakfast before leaving. They went above and beyond.

The relaxing feel, pool, and bar made Wooden House a lovely place to stay on Isabela Island. It’s not right on the beach, but it’s still a fantastic spot. Our room was comfortable and stylish, and the staff were super friendly. Highly recommend!
