At first glance, it seems like a nice spot for a night out, and yes, you can have a good time there. Still, watch your belongings and drinks. I found it a hotspot for pickpockets, drugs in drinks, and all kinds of unpleasant experiences. My local friends were amazed when I said I was going there for a quick beer.

Lots of young people, tourists, street shows, and tiny fountains in the plaza. It’s a funky, fancy area with many nice restaurants, and a good place for photos. Come by during the day or at night and enjoy the different feel.

We had a nice lunch at the plaza, which has plenty of restaurants and bars and draws a young crowd from the nearby hostels. But a local owns nearly the whole block, and the places are basically alike. It’s overpriced and seems aimed at tourists who don’t know better. Go just a block away and you can find more authentic experiences.

A whole lunch for $3.50 is a great deal, and there are plenty of places to party or just get a drink. It gets crowded at night, though, and the party crowd leaves trash everywhere. The police also have to deal with the traffic. I still really love the place, but that’s why I’d give it 4 stars.

There’s a nice range of places to eat, drink, and dance in this lovely plaza, and the atmosphere is fun. Watch out for flower vendors at night. On weekends after dark it’s more of a party scene than a family place.
