Darwin and his wife were incredibly kind and helpful. They went out of their way to help me, a gringa, with safety, rides, directions, and friendship. I love this hostal and can’t recommend it enough.

Darwin, the host and receptionist, was attentive and helpful without hovering, and gave me good local recommendations. This is a great budget hostel within walking distance of Parque Carolina and La floresta neighborhood. I had a very positive stay and would come back.

I had a clean, comfortable private room and thought this was great value in Quito. Darwin and Carla made me feel welcome with excellent service, even lending me a hairdryer and helping set up an Ecuadorian SIM card. The breakfast was generous and kept me going most of the day. The walls are thin, which was my one downside, but that comes with staying in a hostel at this price, and luckily I had earplugs. Muchas gracias a ustedes!

The roof terrace doesn’t really have a view, though our room did have a small balcony. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was excellent, with eggs and pancakes. At $45 for two in La Mariscal, it was a good price, and this was probably the nicest room we stayed in on our trip to Ecuador.

The location was good, and the rooms were excellent and comfortable. Traveling solo as a woman, I felt safe the whole time.
