Clean, good breakfast, and Direct TV. The staff were accommodating, and the hotel is nice for the price. The location seemed OK, though I really have no idea.

The shower was decent, which matters for a good start to the day, and the staff always tried to help despite speaking little English. A taxi into town is just $1, and breakfast is simple but enough. The room was basic, with cool wooden beams throughout, in this characterful hotel set back from the main road. I stayed while working nearby. The walls are thin and the windows are single-glazed, so light sleepers should ask for a room at the back. Traffic, barking stray dogs, and crowing cocks in the background seem pretty standard for this part of the world. If you want somewhere a bit different, I’d recommend it.

Why aren’t the prices displayed up front? It’s really annoying having to answer so many questions just to find out what they cost.

The breakfast buffet is good, and it’s a nice place to stay in Riobamba.
