Mirador de Bellavista Riobamba

Luis was a fantastic host. When I fell ill, he and Lenin helped me get to a clinic and gave me so much support. The rooms were clean, and the food was nice enough. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We had dinner in the dining room. I ordered the Cowboy Steak, and the Chef checked carefully that it was cooked how I wanted. My wife’s Grilled Chicken with lentils was cooked perfectly. Breakfast was nice too, and we met the owners and their family, who are great people. It’s a hands-on family operation, and they pay attention to details. The rooms were spotless, with white sheets, hot showers, wash cloths, and a selection of soaps, shampoo, and skin cream. Just be aware they take cash only, no credit cards.

There’s a cute cafe at the hotel with delicious ice cream, coffee, and tea, and the service was great. I mentioned that the altitude was affecting me, and the young man at the counter suggested a tea to help my body adapt. It helped a lot. They also sell their own chocolate bars, so make sure to grab some. My parents, who live in Ecuador, spent a number of months in Riobamba and introduced my sisters and me to the town. They booked our rooms at Mirador de Bellavista, where we were welcomed by the kindest staff. The rooms were spotless, with intricate woodwork, comfortable beds, and showers that were reliably hot. The neighborhood was quiet, so we slept well. This place is gorgeous. I highly recommend staying here, or just stopping by for ice cream.

We found this welcoming hotel convenient for getting around Riobamba, with many attractions within walking distance and mountain views around the city. The staff were absolutely lovely. Behind the gate there’s a beautiful garden, and the hotel has lovely wooden details and sculptures. There are porches, balconies, seating areas, and a cozy cafe. Our room was clean, inviting, and well appointed. The food made on site was fresh and tasty, and they make their own chocolate and ice cream too. It felt like a home away from home.
