We thought this was a great value for a short city stay. The room was small and cute, well designed, clean, and had a wide balcony view. It felt like some floors of this residential building had been recently refurbished as self-contained rooms or studio flats. The furniture, materials and equipment were in good shape. Staff were kind and responsive, and provided tea, coffee, water and toiletries. A few things future guests might want to know: we were on the 11th floor, and the lift was being repaired once during our stay, so ask for a lower apartment if stairs are a concern. Having the WC and shower separate was actually useful, but taller people may want to request a larger WC room. Mosquitoes somehow got in, so keep the windows closed.

For the price, it’s fine, though the room is very compact and there was still dust on the floor when we checked in, as it hadn’t been fully mopped. WiFi is a major problem. If you need it to work from your room, forget this stay. The location is decent for local shops and restaurants, but if you don’t like seeing local markets, I’d still suggest looking in Giza or farther from downtown.

The apartment had everything we needed and was comfortable, and I especially appreciated having a washing machine with a dryer. Staff were available around the clock and dealt with all our requests promptly. We stayed four nights at Grey apartments and would happily choose it again. The building is on one of the main streets, so remember that Cairo never sleeps. Still, after visiting the city’s other main areas, I think this was the best area we could have picked. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, and we felt safe the whole time.

A great spot in Downtown cairo, with major places nearby and an ideal location. The rooms are clean, basic toiletries are provided, and the staff are helpful and quick to respond.
