Brassbell Downtown Kasr Living

The room was the biggest letdown. Our first one was dirty, with hairs on the floor, bathroom, sheets, and even the bedside lamp. They changed it after we contacted them, but the second room was only okay. The bed itself was clean and comfortable. Room service isn’t automatic each day, you have to request it through WhatsApp. All the rooms are on the sixth floor, and the elevator was very old and unclean. WhatsApp replies were quick, respectful, and in good enough English to make things easy. The person checking us in spoke very little English, though, and told us to contact a phone number on WhatsApp to finish check-in. The building felt old and unwelcoming, with dust around the lobby and large garbage bags by the elevator much of the time. Sometimes nobody seemed to be looking after the place. The location was convenient for many sights, and the neighborhood seemed cleaner than some other parts of the city. There’s noise at all hours, with people honking constantly for no clear reason, but that’s Cairo and not the property’s fault. This isn’t a hotel, although Booking lists it among hotels, probably because of its good reviews. My experience didn’t match what I’d read online.

The apartments are nice, and the staff are helpful. Finding the entrance can be tricky: it’s beside the red and white HSBC Logo, across from bankABC, and there’s no Brassbell name displayed. Call the number on your reservation and they’ll come get you.

The staff were friendly and quick to respond. Best hotel in Cairo!
