I paid $70 for 3 nights in Cairo, which worked for my budget. The hotel is on the 2nd floor, and my room had two single beds, clean sheets, A/C, hot running water in the sink and shower, a private bathroom, and a TV. It was small and nothing special, but I felt safe and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a fabulous French restaurant a few businesses down. This simple place was a much better fit for me than the $1200 to $1500 bill I was looking at for the hotel on my tour.

The location was good, with lots of restaurants and clothing shops nearby. The hotel was very clean, the room wasn’t expensive, and the staff were really friendly.

The men on staff were friendly, but everything else was negative. The beds and sheets were dirty, and the bathroom felt like a dark cave, with old, broken fixtures like the sink and shower tap. They charged us an extra tax that we hadn’t known about. They didn’t tell us about it on the website or at check-in. I can’t recommend the place unless they improve the hotel.
