I booked a back-view triple room, and it turned out awesome, much better than other hostels that cost a lot more. It was tidy and clean, with a mini fridge, TV, AC, Wi-Fi, and even a balcony you can actually use. This place is a real hidden gem. Highly recommended ♡

For about $20 a night, Midas Hotel was above average. Its best feature is the downtown Cairo location, right in the heart of things. I took off a star because my room didn't have a mini bar or an electric kettle, though some of the other rooms do.

The whole experience felt on par with a five-star hotel, from the room, service, and cleanliness to how smoothly everything was managed. At reception, Mr. Abdulrahman and Mr. Abdullah were great, and the kind, helpful room attendant Umm Ahmed was lovely too. Ms. Alaa, the reservation manager, also helped make it a wonderful stay. A good choice for any reason you’re in Cairo.
