The room was wonderfully set up, with coffee, water, and the minibar replenished regularly. The down pillows and comforters gave us some of the best sleep we’ve ever had. Housekeeping arranged our toiletries and offered unpacking, free ironing, shoe polishing, and turndown service. We arrived to snacks and a lovely welcome, and got a complimentary upgrade to an Astor room. When I mentioned that my girlfriend and I were celebrating Valentine’s Day, they left red roses in our room the next day. Everyone, from security to housekeeping, made us feel at home. The hospitality felt heartfelt. Ahmed Fattah kept our room in great shape. I’m sorry I can’t recall the surnames of the various Mohammeds and Mustafas in butler services, guest services, and reception, but they were wonderful. Thanks as well to the people we met at the bar, restaurant, and pool. I stayed at the St Regis Cairo for two nights this past weekend, and it may have been my best hotel experience ever. Outside of the Great Pyramid, this hotel is a shining star of Egypt. I can’t recommend the place enough, and I’m happy to be a loyal Bonvoy member.

The breakfast buffet was a real highlight, with lots of choices for different tastes and consistently good quality. My room was spotless and beautifully designed, with a lovely view over the pool. I also appreciated the welcome note and chocolates, plus the small gestures during my stay, like fresh juice in the room and ginger-honey tea when I had a slight cold. They made me feel cared for. I stayed at The St. Regis in December 2025 and had a very pleasant time overall. A few things could have been better: no one explained on arrival that reception is on the 5th floor, and I found the welcome from staff could have been warmer. Dining room service was good but not especially memorable, and I’ve had much better in Egypt. Housekeeping was acceptable, though not always as perfect as you might expect from a hotel of this standing. It was still a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The concierge gave us inaccurate information and was particularly unhelpful. They suggested the hotel's Egyptian restaurant but didn’t say that it had only outdoor seating. It was freezing, with no indoor option, and we were sent back and forth between floors while being told the restaurant wasn’t open yet. In the end, we were tucked into a corner of the buffet to eat, and the food was mediocre at best. I’ve stayed at St. Regis hotels in many countries, and this was easily the worst. Maybe hospitality standards in Egypt are generally lower. The staff here seemed short on basic politeness compared with other St. Regis properties. At breakfast, the female chef at the egg station was extremely rude, unlike any hotel staff attitude I’ve encountered before. I reported it to a manager before leaving the restaurant, but nobody followed up. When we entered the room, there was a used piece of soap left in the shower. That’s unacceptable for a luxury brand.

Rasha made the open buffet feel like a private meal, bringing us traditional Egyptian breakfast dishes with so much warmth and care. She went out of her way to serve us, and her foul was amazing. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. Mariam from the Butler team made our wedding anniversary feel special with thoughtful gestures and genuine hospitality. The whole St. Regis team showed a level of care and attention that made us feel truly valued and welcome. Our stay at The St. Regis Cairo was unforgettable. God bless the team. We can’t wait to come back.

We didn’t have time to use the pool or the other amenities, but I hope to do that when we pass back through Cairo. We did get to wander around and take amazing photos among the Christmas decorations. The hotel feels elegant from the moment you step in, and it’s across the street from the corniche. If you can get across, it’s a nice area for a stroll. This was my 50th birthday trip, and I was completely taken aback to find flowers, a small birthday cake, sweets, and fruit waiting for me. Hotels have acknowledged my birthday before, usually with a few chocolates at most, but never a bouquet. Service was great from the moment our driver arrived to when staff helped us into our van after checkout. Everyone was professional, warm, and friendly. Our room was spotless and well appointed. We got upgraded to a large Nile view suite, and I really liked its layout. We ordered room service the first night, which was good, then had a phenomenal dinner at the steakhouse the next night. The butler service pressed our dinner outfits quickly and expertly. I’d definitely recommend the hotel.
