Steigenberger El Tahrir Cairo Hotel

We stayed at a Steigenberger hotel in Luxor and are now in Cairo, and both experiences have been amazing. Here, the staff were helpful and seemed to genuinely care about guests. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the breakfast buffet with its exceptional range of choices. Our superior room overlooking the pool was brilliant. It had an iron, robes and slippers, shampoo and conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and lotion, a hairdryer, plenty of plugs, a safe, a minibar with lots of choice, and room service. Housekeeping was great too. The pool area is lovely, and there's also a wellness centre with a gym and spa. It's luxury in the busy Downtown of Cairo, and we couldn't fault the hotel.

The hotel sits in a lively area, with shops and a supermarket close by. Our room was really clean, and breakfast had a good range of things to suit most people. The staff were pleasant and ready to help. On Friday evening, a nice singer at the bar made the stay feel a bit special.

Sherouk made breakfast especially memorable. She was warm, attentive, knew the menu well, and offered helpful recommendations. Her enthusiasm and care really stood out. There was plenty to choose from, both local and international: fresh pastries, cheeses, fruit, and an omelette station where you could order yours just how you wanted it. The dining area also had a warm, inviting feel, mixing comfort with a touch of luxury. Breakfast at the Steigenberger Hotel in Cairo is a treat, and I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting.

The breakfast has a big selection, and Donia provided excellent service. I'll come back when I'm in Cairo. The ladies' sauna area was lovely, and the staff there were very attentive, but at first I got conflicting information about how to book it. The temperature was 60 degrees, which didn't feel like an acceptable sauna temperature, more like a hot room. I stayed in there for 45 minutes hoping it would heat up, but it never did. It was my last morning, so I didn't have time to raise it with staff. Hopefully this helps future guests of this friendly, exceptional hotel.
