Charmillion Gardens Aqua Park

Our son had his 3rd birthday during the stay, and staff around the resort made it special and fun for him. Thanks especially to Piko and Sarah from the Kids Club and the celebration team, who put together a beautiful birthday cake and a great atmosphere. The service across the resort was spot on. The buffet team also moved quickly to resolve a problem I had, and special thanks to Mr Hassan Hussein from the buffet, and Mr Tarek and Mr Amr from the LifeGuards team. I had one or two room issues, but reception dealt with them swiftly. Mr Mateo and Mr Mohamed Atya were outstanding throughout and made sure everything was right. It was an absolutely thrilling stay, from the food and facilities to the customer service. Managers Mahmoud Reslan and Mahmoud khalaf went above and beyond to make sure we were happy after the buffet issue. The food wasn’t always the same, and the Chefs kept us on our toes. Special thanks to Head Chef Mostafa and Chef Mohamed Zaky. I’ve stayed in numerous hotels in Sharm, and this one has everything and does it well for a reasonable price. It’s the place for a great overall family stay.

The food was a real highlight for us, with lots of choice and no one in our group getting food poisoning. I’m a fan of Egyptian cuisine, and after a week there I probably came home a few pounds heavier. The resort is huge, with shops, a pharmacy, ping pong, beach volleyball, and plenty of loungers. It’s close to the Red Sea, though the water was shallow and rocky. It might work for kids snorkeling. We won’t be back, mainly because of the problems during our stay. Our sink barely drained, and nobody fixed it all week. The bathroom and especially the shower had very slippery tiles. The WiFi was unusable, so buying an inexpensive SIM at the airport saved us. The worst part was the outside sellers who were allowed onto the property. They kept joining conversations to push tours, saunas, or scuba diving, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. One man followed me around the pool after I said I’d call if we wanted his boat tour. He took that as a promise, kept approaching me, then got angry and insulted me in front of my friends when I didn’t buy. After one seller left, another might show up later. It made it hard to relax or enjoy time with our group. Buffet table service was slow, and we often cleared our own dirty plates. That wasn’t a huge deal, but it’s not what I’d expect at a five-star resort. I also found it strange that I didn’t see any women working there. My wife joked that service might be better if women worked in the restaurant.

The staff really made an effort, even leaving a birthday cake in the room and decorating the bed with towels and balloons. Food was lovely, with something different each day and live pasta and pizza stations. The aqua park was amazing, and it seems especially good for families with children. The bathroom could use renovation. The duvet covers were old and bumpy, which made them uncomfortable, and the cleaner didn’t replace them when I asked. Besides that, it was a very good hotel, 9/10.

The aqua park kept the kids busy every day, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. We also enjoyed the food quality and the range of choices. The cleaning, food, and bar teams were consistently friendly and helpful, and service was excellent throughout. When our son got ill, Duty Manager Mansour went above and beyond to help us. His care and professionalism made a stressful situation much easier. The one thing we’d change is the loud music around the pools, which played most of the time and made it harder to relax. We had a wonderful holiday at Charmillion Gardens Aqua Park and would happily recommend it to families. We’d love to return.
