The grounds are spacious and pleasant, the sea is beautiful, and the evening music gave the place a nice feel. We also ate well at the on-site restaurants, which were affordable and better than I expected compared with the all-inclusive options. Most staff were kind and helpful, especially the cleaning staff, though a few lacked basic customer service skills. Our March 2026 stay had serious problems with the rooms. They were worn and outdated, the bathroom was a disaster, and the sheets felt like they hadn’t been changed in decades. After we complained, we were moved to rooms that were more decent because staying in the originals was impossible. There are some renovated rooms, but we were asked to pay another $600 for three rooms despite being told the category was the same. We thought the offer was coming from a couple of very initiative guys at reception and turned it down. We even had to buy our own volleyball because the one from the animation team seemed more suited to American football 🏈. The hotel has potential, but the room condition and uneven service need work. I wouldn’t recommend it, as it doesn’t meet 5-star standards. Choosing a slightly more expensive place might save money and nerves in the end. And if you need alcohol, remember to bring your own from duty free.

The reef is good, though there’s no sandy beach. Food was great, and I’ve never seen a hotel offer so many bar locations. The marker near the hotel is very good and even has a pharmacy with reasonable prices. They welcomed us warmly and kindly offered breakfast before check-in, which we appreciated. The grounds are large and green, but part is under construction, so there’s constant noise and dust, with vehicles going back and forth on the road to the rooms. That felt uncomfortable and unsafe for families with children: the noise disturbed sleep, and cars pass very close to the accommodation. The local driving style in Egypt is well known. My friend and I aren’t a couple, but we were assigned a room with a king-size bed. They turned down our request to change rooms quite abruptly, even though the hotel didn’t seem full. The food didn’t make up for the construction noise and safety concerns. I hoped we could move to a better room in the next few days. The room I wouldn’t recommend is 600+, and I’m in 636 now. Update: they changed the room the next day. It’s on the left side, where there aren’t construction works.

The pool was clean, and there were plenty of places to spend time. Getting a sunbed near the beach was difficult, but there were good spots near the pool. The staff sometimes expect tips for better service, which is normal. Our room smelled bad on the first or second day, maybe from the drainage. I told the front desk, and they were very helpful and made sure we got another room. Everything was well organized, and all the staff were really good, from the head chef and housekeeping to room service. The Night Manager was especially helpful. Big shout out to Mr Mosa and receptionist Mr. David. This was one of the best days of my whole trip in Egypt, and the trip overall was amazing. I’d love to return if I get the chance. Thank you so much, Grand Hotel Sharma Shaikh.

The beach and its house reef were a highlight, with colorful fish that made snorkeling great. The beach bar team made our days fun and enjoyable, especially Karlos, Ahmed Afifi, Ahmad Mohmad, and Ahmed Salah. The hotel was clean and well kept, though there are lots of stairs. That turned out to be useful exercise after all the good food. The buffet got a little repetitive, but everything tasted good, especially at the Fish à la carte restaurant, which was well worth trying. We had a really pleasant stay and would love to come back.

Executive Chef Kamil Oztoprak made our stay at The Grand in Sharm El Sheikh especially memorable. He personally prepared a traditional Turkish breakfast that was delicious and heartfelt, and it brought back childhood memories for me. His kitchen was impeccably organized, and his eye for detail stood out. He’s charismatic, with striking blue eyes and a warm personality. The rest of the hotel staff were impressive too: respectful, kind, and truly dedicated to making our stay exceptional. We had a wonderful time, and I’d recommend the place to anyone who values genuine hospitality and memorable food.
