Shark's bay oasis 2 bedrooms apartment

The reef was amazing, and it helped me cope with a bad stay. That’s why I booked despite the poor reviews. The hotel’s position is its best feature: there are lovely balcony views over the bay, and a free beach with direct access to the snorkeling drop-off. Breakfast was great, especially for a vegetarian, and the staff were cheerful. The room, though, was staggeringly bad and the dirtiest I’ve ever stayed in, and I’m 58. The sheets and pillowcases were ragged, and the curtains, carpet, and sofa were in a disgusting state. I put one of the torn sheets over the sofa to sit on, but the armrest was so worn that it gave me a friction burn and I got an infection. The fridge was rusty and dirty, with clumps of mold in the freezer. One of the two cups was cracked right through and chipped at the rim. The only thing in the kitchen besides that was a kettle. All the drawers had crumbs and food in them, and the floors were dirty and dusty, with cigarette ash and more. Writing it all out is exhausting, but the room really was that bad. The double bed was missing support planks, so I slept on the single bed in the front room. There were loads of mosquitoes. It took about three days to get them under control, and I had to sleep with repellent on my skin. Awful.

The view from my room was breathtaking, and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. Sameh and basem were especially friendly and attentive, and the service from the staff went above and beyond. I had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return!

It’s in a convenient area, close to everything, and the hotel is clean and very nice. The food was good and well prepared, and the staff were helpful and friendly. A pleasant stay.

Mohamed at reception really made my stay better. He was professional, friendly, and helpful, and deserves a special thanks. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well organized. I had a great stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!
