Sun Resort Aqua Park Sharm El-Sheikh

Our family didn’t want to leave after a great value all-inclusive stay. The staff welcomed us warmly, and the waiters were attentive and helpful. The entertainment team put on dancing, volleyball, and yoga on the beach every day. We stayed over Christmas and NY, and the celebrations were awesome. The buffet food was fresh and nicely presented, with cooked-to-order alternatives and fresh pancakes and other options for children. The pool and sunbeds were well maintained by the lifeguards, and Mohammed, the excellent towel man, made sure we had clean, fresh towels daily. There was fresh pizza and chips at the beach and pool bars. The local area has a private beach with a dive center where you can book all sorts of water activities. You can also ride camels and horses there. There were always sun lounges available with shade umbrellas, and plenty of excursions were easy to book on arrival. Mohamed Yehia at the front office is a real asset. He’s always there and ready to go the extra mile to meet your expectations. Mustafa served me with a big heart and a big smile, and chef Ehab also deserves a big thanks. I can’t say the same for the main restaurant manager, who’s a big concern. On my first day back in my country, the reception manager and staff gave me a good start and a big assist, so that’s a plus. I hope things get better over the next few days. We’ll see.

The food is surprisingly good, and the staff are nice. The hotel is old and tired, though relatively clean. Only a small part of it is operating, and one pool is heated, but it’s still quite cold. The beach chairs are very dilapidated and their covers are dirty. They’ve put a lot of effort into planting flowers and plants that don’t seem to want to grow. It might make more sense to let the grass grow and use the remaining money for new bed linen and towels. If you just want some cheap sun and a pool, it’s an okay hotel. A garden view room, of course, has no view.

We had a room with direct sea access for our four days here, and the location and views were beautiful. The sea was wonderful, especially for small children, with a safe beach area and coral with colorful fish a bit farther out for snorkeling. Taxis are cheap, so getting around Sharm El Sheikh is easy. The food varied each day and there was enough of everything, though a little more choice would’ve been nice. The cleaning could have been better, but we were very happy with our stay and would gladly come back.
