Alicante Golf Hotel

The rooms felt old and clearly need renovation, and considering the price and restrictions, there are better places to stay in Alicante. The hotel itself was just okay, and I wouldn't recommend it. You can't order food from outside, which felt very restrictive. I've stayed at many hotels around the world and never come across that before. Smoking wasn't allowed anywhere either. The outdoor pool was closed during our visit, and using the indoor pool costs extra even for hotel guests. It was around €60 for 90 minutes, with slippers and a swimming cap required, which is a lot for a swim. Service wasn't great. The woman with glasses at reception came across as unfriendly and condescending, so we didn't feel welcome. Personally, I'd pick somewhere else next time.

The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Staff were polite and attentive. Adrian, one of the waiters, noticed I didn't speak Spanish and switched to English without me having to ask. I appreciated that thoughtful gesture, and it was more than I expected. My partner and I were there on a day pass to try the facilities. There was an event that day, so quite a few children were around, but the hotel itself was excellent.

Coral tailored my spa massage to what I needed, and it was wonderful. I only wish the treatment could have been longer than 30 minutes. Many thanks 😊

The hotel is beautiful and very clean, but our first impression at the front desk was poor. One female staff member with long hair and thick glasses felt unwelcoming. It seemed like she was judging or treating us differently because we weren't dressed formally, which isn't acceptable in hospitality. Guests should be treated equally. She also sent us to the wrong side of the hotel for our room. We wandered around trying to find the lift and room number, then discovered it was in another wing. Nobody mentioned that the pool was closed, and I had to find that out on the website myself. Reception should tell guests which facilities are available. It's a shame, because the property is lovely, but after that lack of hospitality I don't think I'll return. The housekeeping staff were much friendlier and more welcoming.
