Dormirdcine Alicante

The location is brilliant, right in the heart of Alicante and close to shops, bars, restaurants, the old town, beach, and marina. The little hotel and its communal areas were very clean. There was a problem with our first room, but it was sorted quickly and the second room was perfect. We didn’t use the rooftop plunge pool, but it’s a lovely feature. Breakfast could be better. The area is small, and other guests were having loud video calls even though it wasn’t busy, so we didn’t get the relaxing start to the day we wanted on holiday. There was much more choice among the cold options and pastries, but hot options were very limited and weren’t replenished when they ran out, despite 30 to 45 minutes of service still remaining. That happened each morning. On our last day I tried three eggs hoping for a hard-boiled one, but none were hard-boiled at all, so I gave up. I’d recommend the hotel for its brilliant location, though the breakfast experience needs improvement.

The location was great, just a five-minute walk from the bus from the airport, which took about 20 minutes, and five minutes from a beautiful beach. There are plenty of great bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. It was our first time in Alicante and we weren’t sure what to expect, but this hotel was great. The staff were so nice, the room was perfect, and the upstairs bar had fun drinks. Breakfast was great every morning, especially the fancy Nespresso machines and chocolate donuts. We’ll definitely stay here again.

We felt dissatisfied and scammed, even though the hotel was generally clean and well located. We borrowed a kettle for hot water, something that’s usually provided or lent for free at other hotels. It first cost five euros, but at checkout we were told it was five euros per day. The price hadn’t been clearly explained, and the hotel insisted the charge was for a “Coffee Set.” We never got any free coffee, and that name doesn’t match the item we were charged for.

The location was a real plus, and the cleaning was very good. We did arrive to find one very dirty towel, but they replaced it quickly. I’m still fairly happy with the stay, though I’d call this a decent three-star hotel rather than a four-star one. The entrance looks fancy and sets high expectations, but the rooms are small, even if the bathroom is quite spacious. There are also few of the amenities you’d expect at four stars: no kettle, and shampoo and body balm are combined in one product, which I hated. The gym is decent. The rooftop needs maintenance, and the pool is very narrow and unheated, so it wasn’t what I expected.
