Eurostars Lucentum Hotel

The staff in the restaurant were really bad, rude, and surly. Breakfast plates were small, not proper food plates, with just one section for cutting and toasting bread. The tea bags were tasteless and not from reputable brands. There were no fried sausages or eggs, and the boiled eggs were cold instead of kept warm. The hot food was cold too. The coffee machine either didn't work or made you wait a long time. The orange juice was labelled fresh, but wasn't. Every one of the five mornings I ate breakfast, I or someone else had to remind staff to refill the bacon, egg, or other dishes. The breakfast was very poor. The bathroom and toilet are old, and there's always a bad smell in the bathroom. Room curtains were dirty and had burns and holes. Of the two elevators in this 10-story building, one was out of order one day, which is ridiculous for so many passengers. This was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in across many cities in Spain. I usually research carefully and check reviews from different places, but now I understand you can't rely too much on comments. I really don't recommend it. This isn't 4-star standard at all, maybe 2-star.

The room was spacious and nice, but the night was uncomfortable. It was too warm to sleep, even without blankets. Temperature was controlled centrally and couldn't be adjusted in our room. Street noise through the poorly insulated windows was annoying until it died down after 3 a.m. The heat and noise together were a problem. I don't think we'll stay again unless we can get a room away from the street where we can open a window. The reception lady was wonderfully helpful, and the location put us right among the sights and restaurants. It was a 10-minute walk to the harbour, directly across from the central market building, and close to a parking garage that offers a price deduction for hotel guests.

The hotel is reasonably priced, clean, and has friendly staff. It's close enough to all the amenities, and we'd stay there again. Breakfast was included, but I wouldn't pay extra for it because there are so many nearby places with better views. Just don't expect a five-star hotel.

The breakfast was delicious, with loads to choose from, and the hotel is pretty central. We came for our anniversary and the staff made the stay feel special. Our room was lovely and clean too. I’d definitely recommend it.
