The biggest concern for us was the deposit. After checkout, some of it was withheld over alleged damage, but we never saw clear photos showing that we had caused anything. We were given vague, conflicting explanations and generic PDF documents after the money had already been held back. First it was the apartment’s condition and extra cleaning, then stains on the sofa, and later alleged candle wax on the table, even though we never used candles. We have checkout photos of the apartment in normal condition before we left. The apartment itself looked nice and things seemed fine at first. But as people who travel often, this left us feeling very uncomfortable and unprotected as guests. After reading the owner’s response and other previous guests’ experiences, we want future visitors to know we never saw the photos they kept referring to, and the explanation changed during the conversation. Be careful when booking, especially with the deposit process.

The apartment was very clean, check-in was easy, and communication with the host was quick and simple. The kitchen was well equipped and the shower was great. The one downside was the window facing a building wall, which meant there was no light in the room.

I had the best sleep of my life on that opening sofa. There were no windows or balcony for drying wet towels or swimwear, though. The area felt safe, no problem for young girls, and we could leave our stuff there before check-in.

The building felt safe, with two codes, and the staff replied quickly on WhatsApp. It’s a safe area, and the apartment was clean and a good size for a couple. There was construction, so it got a bit noisy. The lift is old and small, and we would have preferred one double bed instead of two singles. The bus stop is about a five-minute walk away.

The staff were very helpful, and having a separate bedroom was a big plus. The apartment was clean and close to the bus and metro. A good place to stay in barca.
