Arco Barcelona Hotel

The hotel's location was a big plus. Many attractions are within a 20-minute walk, while a bus stop and metro station are less than three minutes away. The bus route goes to many parts of the city, and airport buses 46 and 49 are within a 15-minute walk. The hotel felt safe, with controlled access and no random people hanging around. Most of the neighborhood behind it is still safe, but it felt less pleasant to walk through, with many non-Spanish stores and some unusual shops and people. Within 3-5 minutes of the hotel there are cafés and pastry shops, and we especially liked Ivette’s Coffee. We stayed for about five nights and had a good experience. Check-in was smooth, staff were welcoming, and although we don't speak Spanish they communicated with us in English without a problem. We arrived early and they let us check in four hours ahead, which we really appreciated. Preparing the room took about 45 minutes, and they stored our bags for free while we waited. Our room was a good size, on the seventh floor facing the main street, with a nice view of the hill and art museum. We requested a higher floor and a larger bed, and both were arranged at no extra cost. The bathroom and shower were clean, towels were provided, and housekeeping came each morning for free. There was also a small fridge and a TV we didn't use. The €14-per-person-per-day breakfast buffet wasn't something we tried. The main downside was that our room was right beside the facilities and equipment room. Staff took out cleaning equipment around 8am each morning, and the noise could wake us up. I also wish the room had a kettle or small microwave. I went to reception for hot water every night. Once I was given two glasses of hot water, and burned my hand carrying them back; another night they gave me a hot water flask instead. There were always small sweets at reception, a nice touch. Despite a few minor issues, we'd recommend the hotel.

We had a lovely stay and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. It's new, cozy, and very clean, with a good location. Our room was spacious for three, with plenty of room, a nice bathroom, and big, comfortable beds. Breakfast was good, too. Luis at reception was friendly and cool, helped us with everything, and stored our bags for free. The place deserves five stars. Thanks a lot!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and very accommodating. Our room and bathroom were spotless, and I was really grateful that my request was honored so I could enjoy a soak after a long day. In London, my studio only has a shower, so this was lovely. There was a great view of the Majestic Art Museum from the seventh floor, and the morning skyline was wonderful. There's good transport nearby, with lots of restaurants and shops on the same street. I highly recommend it. The double room had a huge bed, a big wardrobe, a desk, and a safe. The bed was so large I could have shared it with three others without being bothered. The bathroom had toothbrushes and toothpaste, tissues, and a shower cap, which was handy if you'd forgotten your toothbrush. I did feel a bit embarrassed that there was no toilet brush. I also really missed having a kettle in the room for a hot drink. There was a minibar instead, and room service and a lobby bar if you don't mind sitting in the lobby.

The location worked really well, with the metro and buses nearby, and the hotel was clean. Staff were polite and professional, and they put our two rooms next to each other, which was helpful. Breakfast had a great mix of hot and cold food, plenty of fruit, and lots of drinks and juices. The serving staff were good too. Our room was fine, though an iron would have been useful.
