Barcelona Apartments

I expected more for the price. The internet was very poor throughout the hotel, so I had to use my own connection. We were leaving early for the airport and asked if they could prepare a lunch package since breakfast was already paid for, but they couldn’t do that. The breakfast selection was limited too, with no scrambled eggs and only a small amount of tomatoes for vegetables. The hotel is clean and its location in the Gothic Quarter, right beside La Rambla, is excellent.

The location is really good, and the hotel is clean. That’s about it for me, though. The breakfast is poor, the rooms are small and made with cheap materials, and in the morning a machine from the kitchen is very loud. You can also hear everything from the corridor and other rooms. The lamps didn’t work properly. It might be okay if you want a cheap place close to everything, but I wouldn’t come back.

It’s in a great spot, close to everything, and the service is good. Luggage storage was easy, as were check-in and check-out. I’ve stayed here twice, about seven years apart, and nothing has changed. The place needs more upkeep. It’s pretty standard, so don’t expect much luxury.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and breakfast was great. The location is excellent too. My only dislike was the bathroom’s glass door; everything else was good.
