Barcelona Beach Apartments

There's a great view from the balcony, and the location is excellent, one of the best places to stay in Barcelona. The area stays lively late, with plenty of people, restaurants, and bars. Drunk tourists and rowdy couples made it a little noisy at night, but it didn't bother us. The place is clean and tidy, with what you need, including a hairdryer, coffee maker, washing machine, and iron. They'd thought of everything, even somewhere for luggage after check-out.

A very lively area with all kinds of restaurants and shops close by, and the beach just 2 mins away. Awesome location, definitely a place to stay in Barcelona.

Check-in was simple with a code, and the flat was ready on time. Check-out was just as easy, and the host kindly let us leave a couple of hours later so my partner could work that morning. Lockers at the property were a nice extra. After we checked in, the host met us, showed us the map, and cleared up a few things. Very welcoming. The location works well if you want the beach, with lots of restaurants and minimarkets around. There is a rooftop that must be great in Summer, though I only went up for a few beach pictures. The building has good WiFi throughout and a lift, which is rare for places like this, and there's AC. Coffee capsules were included too. The flat is tiny, about 30 sqm, so fine for a short stay but no more. It is starting to show its age, with wear and tear throughout. The bed is medium firm and okay, and the sheets are satisfactory, but the blankets are short and not right for a king-sized bed. I was told that's because all the guests are German, but I'm not, so I was disappointed. It got cold at night, so I turned on the air conditioning. Then a stale smell filled the flat, which seemed attributable to poor maintenance. The bathroom was the worst part: big patches of mold in the shower suggested a lack of cleaning or maintenance. There also wasn't enough hot water for two showers in a row, which was disappointing at the end of the day. For the price, that's unacceptable. The workaround is taking one shower in under 10 minutes. Do I have to compromise on showering? There were no toiletries besides hand soap, something you can get in places costing half as much. The area is very quiet, but on the 1st floor you hear everything on the street, from street cleaners to tourists to neighbors. The Barcelona-styled string shades didn't block the light well, making sleep harder. The walls are paper thin, so I was constantly hearing neighbors flush their toilets. The building's WiFi is shared, which means the network isn't safe for work, so keep that in mind.

We had two adjoining apartments, each with a small balcony, and everything we needed was there. It was very clean, and the air conditioning was fantastic on some really hot nights. The lift from the lobby made things much easier since one of us had a sore leg. It's a lovely place, not posh, with a nice view of Spain. A taxi from the airport cost about 30.00 euro, and the beach is a genuine 100 meters away.
