Catalonia Square

The room at Hotel Catalonia Square was spacious, modern, and very clean, and the location is so central that I was amazed by how close everything was. LA Rambla, Placa de Catalunya, grocery stores, restaurants, and takeaways were all just minutes away on foot. Even with our two-year-old, it was easy to walk to the other main tourist sights, including la familia Basilica. The routes from the hotel were stroller friendly. Kate and Guido gave us the warmest welcome at check-in. Kate played with our little one, and the team even prepared a little tray of goodies for her when we checked in later, which made our baby's day and ours. When we checked out, Kate and Guido stored our luggage until we were ready to leave, and Guido helped us get a taxi to the airport. We'd definitely stay at Hotel Catalonia Square again.

Frances and Kate, along with the Bellmen who helped with our luggage, made us feel truly valued from the moment we arrived. They were welcoming, professional, and attentive, and their warm hospitality stood out. Frances and Kate were always ready to answer our questions. Their helpful recommendations and efficiency made the stay even more enjoyable, and it's clear they genuinely care about giving guests excellent service.

The rooms are spacious, well furnished, and have a comfortable desk for working on a laptop, plenty of plugs, and very fast WiFi. Everything was very clean, and the shower was perfect, with great water pressure, hot water, and lots of space. Breakfast is very good, though it could be expanded a bit. It's a beautiful hotel in a great spot, right near Plaça de Catalunya. A great place to stay.

The front desk staff went out of their way for us more than once. When the incident at Catalonia Barcelona Plaza meant we had to move, they contacted me ahead of time and arranged the transfer to Hotel Catalonia Square quickly. The longer trip to our work convention was a letdown at first, but they upgraded us to a spotless room with a balcony and private pool overlooking the cathedral, and left us a lovely treat. One morning, there were no taxis around and Uber was taking too long. A receptionist actually ran outside to help us flag one down, so we got to the convention on time. They were just as kind when I asked them to freeze and store my breast milk, since our room fridge had no freezer. I never felt awkward asking, and I was able to bring it home for my baby. For sightseeing, the central location is handy: lots of shops and restaurants are walkable, as are El Món Neix en cada Besada, Cathedral de barcelona, and Casa Batillo. Sagrada familia and Park Güell are a quick taxi ride away. Breakfast was good and the service was exceptional, so I recommend adding it. We were in Barcelona for work, but I’d happily return. It’s a four-star hotel that deserves five.
