Cotton House made the final days of our 14-night trip around Spain memorable. We were travelling with our 5-year-old, and this was one of the best places we stayed. We'd previously been to The Palace in Madrid and Hotel Alfonso XIII in Seville, but Cotton House stood out. The welcome was so warm and kind that we felt at home straight away, and every team member we met was thoughtful, attentive, and caring. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice, and both meals were perfect. The balance of the building, rooms, and facilities with the service, atmosphere, and hospitality was outstanding. It's a boutique-style hotel with elegant, characterful interiors. Our child has allergies, and the team took such careful care of him. We wanted to give them a little gift to say thanks, but I'm expressing our gratitude here instead.

The service is what puts Cotton House above other hotels for us. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home, and set a very high bar for future stays. It was our first stop on our honeymoon, and we fell in love with the place right away. The rooms are beautiful, cozy, and spacious, with thoughtful touches like balloons, cava, and little hearts on the bed. We had a lovely private terrace, and the old textile building has striking design. There were chocolates each night and branded Velcro wraps for phone chargers. The salon-quality hairdryer was a nice perk. Cocktails at the bar were excellent, especially the banhattan!! We were there when it was too chilly for the rooftop pool, which has a cool view of Sagrada Família. The location is central and very walkable.

The staff made us feel welcome with their warm, professional service, and the central location meant we could walk to shops, architecture, and restaurants without noise being an issue. Cotton House is a beautiful historic building that mixes old-world elegance with modern comfort. Our spacious, quiet room was well equipped, the AC worked well, and we enjoyed sitting on the little balcony with a glass of wine at the end of each day. The restaurant was wonderful, breakfast had excellent buffet and menu choices, and the restaurant's bar was a nice place for a cocktail inside or on the patio. For a sophisticated historic hotel with great energy and service in Barcelona, Cotton House is a fantastic choice.

The location is spectacular, just off the crowded tourist area but still close to everything, and the building is gorgeous, with its cotton theme reflecting its history as a cotton industry trade group. Most rooms are small but beautiful and had what I needed. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with plenty of high-quality food in a lovely setting. Front desk, concierge, restaurant, and bar staff were friendly, professional, and hardworking. Housekeeping staff were friendly and hardworking too, though their approach could be clearer and more formalized. I stayed 16 nights in May of 2026, so I had a good sense of both the hotel's strengths and its problems. I would stay again, and hope the weak spots catch up with the rest of this lovely hotel by next year's Barcelona visit. The main frustration was the inconsistent housekeeping. Lots of small things added up: glasses by the sink weren't always replaced, the sink and toilet weren't always cleaned, sheets weren't changed when I asked once, extra towels I requested were sometimes missing, and the bedside lamps kept being shifted over the bed so I had to move them back every night. There were a couple of other little issues too. I also slipped in the very slippery walk-in shower, hit my head, and bled. Luckily it wasn't serious. I didn't know they could provide a shower mat, but they did, and I strongly recommend asking for one. The hotel should make mats available in every room. Breakfast was spectacular, but sometimes stressful because the hard-working staff seemed rushed. My biggest complaint was that the hotel repeatedly rented out public areas meant for paying guests. The outdoor terrace, where guests could eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or have a drink, was rented at least three times during my stay, once to some local yoga group, once for a wedding, and once to someone I don't know. The second-floor library is the main place for guests to relax and have a drink; the small ground-floor lobby is really just for waiting or checking in and out. That beautiful library was rented at least FOUR times during my stay. A boutique hotel shouldn't rent out its limited guest spaces this way. I've never seen that at another boutique hotel I've stayed in. In the United States this is called double dipping: the hotel gets paid by its guests and outside groups for the same amenities, while guests lose access. That's not acceptable.
