Dalia Ramblas

The location worked really well for our city work trip, and the staff were fantastic. The man on the morning shift suggested a couple of breakfast places, and both were great. Our room could use a bit of attention, though nothing that affected the stay. The bed was comfortable, the TV was good, and the shower was great.

We’re 70 and consider ourselves serious people, but even though we’d paid for the stay two months ahead, they wouldn’t let us into the room unless we left our last few pennies as a deposit. They asked for a credit card or €100 at reception, which I believe the law doesn’t allow. The deposit was supposedly in case someone stole the TV, a pillow, a dirty towel, or even the room door. We intend to report the whole thing to the inspection. Avoid this hotel, its practices are unacceptable.

Getting to all the sights from Dalia Rambles was easy, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with them. I’ll miss Manuel in particular, he was such a friendly guy.

We stayed four nights at Dalia Ramblas, and Carlos gave us a warm welcome at check-in. He also moved us to a slightly bigger room, which we appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty for our needs, and the smart TV with Netflix was a nice extra for winding down before bed. It’s right by Las Ramblas, so it made a handy base for exploring Barcelona. Just remember it’s a three-star place, so don’t expect five-star luxury.
