Don Moustache Hostel

The bathrooms are inside the rooms, so they make a lot of noise and are uncomfortable for anyone sleeping nearby. Sharing one small bathroom with 13 other people feels pretty unhygienic, even though it’s cleaned every day. The kitchen and showers shut from 11:30 PM to 8 AM, then close for a few hours again in the evening, so you can’t eat or shower during those times. They charge you if makeup gets on a towel, even if it washes out. There are no lockers for suitcases after checkout, and they want payment to hold anything for a few hours. I’ve never felt this exposed in terms of privacy. The male receptionist often comes into the women’s room without knocking, and he treats guests badly even when they’re just asking a question. When I tried to keep a friend’s small bag after she checked out, he yelled at and mistreated her. He’s also said he doesn’t care if people leave bad reviews about him or the hostel. I wanted to speak to the owner, but I’m sure he already knows how this man treats people. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to any woman.

We left early and moved to another apartment because I’m extremely allergic to mold. There was black mold on the bathroom walls and around the sink. The showers were supposedly closed for cleaning, yet they were dirty and didn’t work. We accidentally left some things behind, called an hour later to collect them, and were told they’d been thrown away. There wasn’t any air conditioning, despite the listing saying there was. The cleaner comes in at 11 in the morning, so if you’re not up early, don’t expect to sleep while she’s working. The location is perfect, but this was a horrible place to stay.

The location is really good, and the beds are sturdy and comfortable. You can get locker locks with a €10 deposit. The showers are dirty and shut at 23.30. The owners often take over the common areas for their romantic moments until those areas close at 23.30.

I really loved this cozy, charming place. It’s a great deal and has a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was very nice, and they provide everything if you want to cook for yourself. There’s even a little coffee break in the afternoon. Five stars for a short trip!
