Happy People Gaudi Sant Pau

I liked the location and found self check-in easy, but the payment experience was a mess. The property asked me to pay through an external website outside Booking. I asked Booking whether the link was secure, and while I was waiting for an answer, my reservation was cancelled. I had to book again at a higher price. Then €786 was charged to my card without proper authorization. The website seemed insecure, and it took several days to get the money back. The property and Booking customer service kept sending me back and forth without offering a clear fix. It’s unacceptable to be on holiday and suddenly see €786 missing from your account. Guests should be very careful with their bank card details to avoid fraud. The apartment was also poorly insulated. We could hear every movement from the upstairs neighbors as if they were in our room, making it very hard to sleep. Customer service was weak too.

For a short stay, it had everything I needed and was both clean and comfortable. Check-in and the apartment entry details were all handled online, which made the place very convenient.

We paid a lot, and the AC wasn’t good. There wasn’t any in the bedrooms, and the dishes and towels hadn’t been washed properly. They also make you take out the trash or charge 50 euros. They don’t take calls or messages unless it’s an emergency. We were watching TV at what seemed like a normal volume and got an alert telling us to turn it down. This place is insane. Awful stay, find somewhere else.

There are plenty of nearby shops for picking up essentials. The apartment was simply finished, with good space to relax, cook, and eat. The lift is tiny, but it saved us from climbing the four flights to the room. The site itself isn’t staffed, though someone was available by phone and was very helpful getting us settled and set up with the keys.
