Hostal Boutique Khronos

We had a wonderful stay in this accommodation. It was clean and cozy, with a very central location, and I'd definitely recommend it. The breakfast was really delicious, and the host was cool, smiley, and funny.

Hostal Boutique Khronos is right in the heart of Barcelona, with restaurants, attractions, shops, clothing stores, public transport, and cafés all a short walk away. It's a convenient base for exploring without spending time on long commutes. The place is clean, tidy, and well maintained. The rooms aren't large, but they're laid out well and use the space effectively. The art on the walls adds a warm, personal feel, and it was surprisingly quiet, so I could rest after a day of sightseeing. There's a small, cute kitchen area and a large outdoor terrace just behind it, where you can relax or have morning coffee. Some rooms also have little balconies. Breakfast offers a range of continental choices, simple but satisfying before heading out. It felt safe, even when coming back late or after midnight. Guests get their own keys for the hostel and room, and if you arrive and need help, staff will gladly let you in when you ring the bell. A couple of small things: the shower water gets very hot, which feels great after a long day walking, but the bathroom could use more ventilation because it gets foggy. Finding the entrance the first time can be a bit confusing, so follow the directions carefully. I'd definitely stay here again.

We had a good stay at first, and the staff were lovely, but the owners left a bad impression. After we arranged a late check-out, one owner seemed unaware of it and moved our luggage to the lobby, basically accusing us of making it up. They don’t seem to communicate with each other, and the contact number at the mostly unattended desk never answered. The place is very clean but run down, dark grey and black, and nothing like the photos. Outside noise was intense, and the old double glazing didn’t seal, so it felt like being beside a motorway. There was no running water in the so-called kitchen area, which didn’t seem hygienic for eating. Adam, the other owner, suggested we eat elsewhere. The location is great, though.

The terrace was a nice place to eat, though I was nervous around the pigeons 😅. The balcony was pretty too, and the staff were helpful, including letting us leave our luggage before check-in. Getting inside took a little attention since the entrance sign wasn’t very obvious, and a few steps led up to the small elevator. The nearest metro station was right in front of Casa Batllo. I did find fine hairs and bits on the bed sheets, which could use a dust-roller. Still, it was a great stay.
