Hostal Parisien-NEW

Although Hostal Parisien has a lot of potential, my stay left me disappointed, and I’d hesitate to recommend it until things improve. The cleanliness and maintenance need attention. The shared bathroom ran out of both toilet paper and paper towels, which was inconvenient, and the hostel overall didn’t feel clean enough. I booked a private room with a shower and used the shared bathroom outside it. My room was at the back, so it stayed cool and quiet, and I slept pretty well. Noise from the lobby did carry into the rooms, though. The location on busy La Rambla is excellent for exploring Barcelona. I hope management addresses the problems, because the hostel could offer a much more comfortable stay.

The street outside gets noisy because of the location, but earphones or earplugs should help. I found the shared bathroom sparkling clean, and there’s a hand washer in the bedroom. It’s a budget hostel, so don’t expect anything fancy. I had a very nice stay here and would stay again.

We loved the stay and are coming back next year. It was clean, the staff were great, and the location was good. I was there in spring, when the weather was pleasant. Just be aware there’s no air conditioning or elevator.

It’s right in the city centre, about a 5 minute walk from placa de Catalunya, with Boqueria market around the corner and the seaside nearby. The room was basic but clean, the bed was comfortable, and Wi-Fi was free. Street noise and sounds from the next room could disturb your sleep. You can hear everything! Even the toilet flushing is really loud. They don’t provide soap, so bring your own hand washing liquid.
