Hostal Radio

A nice place to stay when I was there a long time ago, close to everything in the city. The corridor was small, but the bedroom was large, with two big mirrors. Nice for a couple.

A lovely little hotel with friendly staff, just steps from the Ramblas and some great cafes and bars. They even have a radio in the room that turns on with the push of a button, just as the name suggests. I'd definitely stay here again.

The only thing I'd complain about was the outdoor noise on weekends from the event venue right across from the Hostal. It didn't bother me, though. I was really impressed by the place, and with everything it offered I'd call it a Hotel. Some people in the reviews complain about the price, but I thought it was worth it. The location between old and new Barcelona was perfect for a first-time visitor like me. Rooms were cleaned every day, and the staff were lovely. One employee even offered me a free concert ticket for the venue opposite. Thanks again to everyone at the Hostal for the great service.

The location couldn't be better, and the staff are friendly. It could work for a stay of a few days, but the way the hotel operates is strange. At the entrance there's a narrow passage with Texas-style swinging doors, followed by a door that reception has to open every time you leave. You also have to leave your keys there whenever you go out. Sound was a big problem for us. Noises from the air conditioner and plumbing kept us up at night. The toilet doors in our room were cut short at the bottom, wouldn't close, and had no lock, so there was no privacy. The elevator was out of service about half the time. To call it, the last person to leave had to make sure three doors were shut. There were also no outlets near the bed, a small but annoying inconvenience.
