Hostal Sans

The receptionists were really nice, and the metro station is close, so it's easy to get anywhere. Since accommodation in Barcelona is expensive, I'd say this place is acceptable for what you pay. My room was rather dirty, with some ants crawling around. The walls and doors barely block sound, though it wasn't so noisy that I minded much.

The location is the only real plus. The room smelled like a sewer because there was no separation between the bed and bathroom. The floor was dirty enough that I had to keep my shoes on, and there were no slippers. They cleaned the room but didn't change the bedding. There's no coffee pot in the room, either.

The location is good, but it was hard to sleep at night. The metro was noisy, and the walls were so thin that I could hear what my neighbors were saying.

Despite the name, this isn't what you'd expect from a hostel. It's a great little hotel for the price, with a lot to offer. Breakfast is easy to sort out: either go out to the street or bring some sliced jamon iberico with you.
