Hotel Cortes Rambla

It’s a good fit for a solo traveler, and the room was decent, though a little noisy. The location is great. My only complaint was one staff member, Pau or Lau, I’m not sure which since they don’t wear name tags. She was VERY rude to me from check-in for no reason. Everyone else on staff was really nice. She needs to find a different line of work.

I was very disappointed at the end of our stay. The hotel charged me €250 for smoking, although the rules hadn’t been clearly explained when I arrived. I smoked by the window and didn’t mean to break any rules. There was no warning beforehand, and I feel the charge was excessive and disproportionate. The hotel showed little communication or understanding. I don’t recommend this place.

The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout, offering good recommendations and making me feel at home. Hotel Cortes has a warm atmosphere, and it felt like they genuinely cared about their guests. My room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, with thoughtful details. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city, so exploring on foot was easy. I had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back on my next trip.

The location is nice, but the room was far smaller than we expected and the service was poor. Housekeeping left the same bedsheets in place each day without changing them, didn’t clean the bathroom, and left hair and dust on the floor. We had to call reception several times for basics like an iron or ironing board, and were told each time to come downstairs because no staff were available to bring them up.
