Hotel Monegal

The housekeeping was excellent, with water and towels refreshed every day. The staff were kind and welcoming, and when we mentioned it was our honeymoon, they kindly upgraded our room, which made the stay even more special. The location was perfect. We truly enjoyed our time here.

The reception staff were super helpful and suggested quite a few good places. The beds were very comfortable, there’s a big hall where you can eat your own meals, and the colors of the sun are wonderful. Having reception open 24/24 and a baggage room was convenient. There’s loads to do nearby and public transport is very close. The placement is perfect, and the windows block sound very well. The room had one or two cracked tiles, though, and the walls were a bit thin.

The location was good, but the room was very small and not very nice. I can’t recommend this hotel, especially after being charged extra at check-in. We went to barcelona in Feb 026 and booked for the location. The receptionist said we had to pay 40 euros for a private bathroom, or they wouldn’t give us a room with one. Everything was listed on our booking site, but she didn’t listen. When we agreed, she added another 22 euros for city tax for a 2 night stay for one couple. I almost had a fight with them. We asked for a full refund, but she refused, and we had no choice but to pay the extra 62 euros. Worst hotel and staff.

The location worked really well for a short stay, and the A1 airport bus stop is just a three-minute walk away. Just keep in mind they charge a city tax of 7 euros per person, per night when you arrive.
