Mar Apartments

The owners provided good service and replied promptly whenever we had a question. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, so I’d stay again if I were in Barcelona. The only tight spot was the back bedroom with the bunk bed, which felt cramped for two people or children. Otherwise, no problems.

The location was great, and the apartment had everything we needed for a week away. It has three bedrooms and sleeps eight, with two bathrooms, which are useful. It was mostly clean and tidy, apart from under the beds. The downside is that it needs an update: the furniture and fittings are well worn and could use some care.

This looks like a scam. It now goes by “appartemento maria,” but it doesn’t seem to be a real place to book. They try to get your credit card details and then cancel at the last minute. Booking.com should be ashamed for not verifying the hotel, even after I tried many times to get help before the travel date. They cancelled on the day, leaving two people stranded.

We booked five nights with friends through Booking for 900 euros and paid the full amount. Then the hotel demanded another 300 € through some unclear link. We refused and said we’d pay on arrival, but there was nobody at the hotel and they didn’t give us a key. They didn’t return our money either. A terrible way to treat customers. They don’t reply to messages.
