The location was the one clear plus. We had a Level 1 room that was a decent size, but the room didn’t look as impressive in person as it did in the online photos. The metro nearby brought constant noise and vibration whenever a train passed, and the building seemed to shake. Maybe our assigned room made it worse, but it was hard to ignore and affected our comfort. With the expensive rate, it didn’t feel like good value. I’d expected more after all the positive reviews and lovely pictures.

The receptionist’s attitude left me feeling unwelcome, and they weren’t helpful at all. The room also smelled awful and the cleanliness was unacceptable. One of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

Booked on the same night at the last minute and slept better than I have in years. The interior feels modern and cool, and it was quiet. Everything was tidy and very clean, and the bed was so comfortable.

I’ve stayed here 5-6 times, and the location is still one of the best in Barcelona. My Premium Room with a balcony looked great at first, and it was spacious, but on closer inspection it needs work. The wood around the washbasin was swollen, the walls had lots of scratches and needed painting, the balcony furniture was really worn out, and the safe cupboard door wouldn’t shut properly. Some rooms need renovation if the hotel is going to keep charging premium prices. At these rates, a simple water heater in the room seems pretty standard too. It was also a little sad that nobody noticed it was my birthday. Still a beautiful place to stay.

We really liked the room and the big balcony door let in fresh air. Most places were within walking distance, so the location was spot on. The reception area is extremely cramped, though, and the elevator takes ages to arrive.
