Dragging luggage upstairs was a real ordeal. The shared bathroom was OK, but the rest of the stay was uncomfortable and unpleasant, and didn’t feel worth the price. Our window faced the inner staircase, so we couldn’t open it to get any air in. We hadn’t been told that. It was very hot, and the tiny wall fan didn’t help.

We tried plenty of cheap hotels and hostels around Catalunya, including places without air conditioning, and they were fine. This was easily our worst stay. My girlfriend and I couldn’t sleep at all because the room had no air and was unbearably hot, even though it was 23 °C outside. The listing said second floor, but it turned out to be on the fourth floor or higher in a split-level building. We paid extra for a private room, but had to leave the door open overnight to get even a little air, so there was no privacy. The fan had to run at full power and was really noisy. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room, only outside, and there was just one shower for the whole floor. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The beds were terrible, the walls were thin, and the water pressure and temperature weren’t great. The woman at reception was friendly and mostly helpful; the other staff weren’t. The location was okay.

You can hear every movement and noise, so light sleepers probably won’t get much sleep. The room and bathroom were clean during our four-night stay, and there was a hairdryer, though no iron. You can buy one for 20 euros at the shop next to the entrance. The metro, shops, market, bars, and restaurants are all a five-minute walk away.
