Sleep Green - Certified Eco Youth Hostel Barcelona

The room was nice and clean, but we weren’t given the one we’d booked. They showed us a room with a view, and that seemed fine. When we arrived for our stay, they put us in a different room without a view. We didn’t agree to that. That’s not how it should work when you book one room and get another.

The hostel is in a great location, and for the price it’s hard to beat. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a kitchen where you can cook. There’s free tea, coffee, and thin tea cookies in the kitchen around the clock. Staff speak several languages and can help with what you need. They also use WhatsApp to share events like pub crawls and beach trips. I had a cold shower on the first night and assumed they’d run out of hot water, but something had broken. They put up a sign overnight and had it fixed by the following evening. In the meantime, they offered hot showers at a nearby hostel if you needed one.

There’s no parking beside the hostel. If you have a car, they’ll send you two or three blocks away, and you have to pay an extra 20€ for it. On a tight budget, be ready for another 5€ in city tax and a 20€ deposit too. A 25€ place ended up costing 70€ because I had a car. The deposit was supposed to be returned, but I still haven’t received it. I can’t recommend this hostel to people traveling by car.

The staff were incredible, friendly, and really helpful, with excellent customer service. Thanks to Victor and his wife Emely, my summer stay with my lovely daughter was even more special. She was visiting Barcelona for the first time, and we made some big memories. They also suggested places for us to visit. The hostel is very well located, right in the heart of the city. You can stay out late and walk easily wherever you want to go, so there’s no need to worry about transport. It was perfect for our summer holiday in Barcelona this year. Best regards from M & H.
